who are we and what do we want?
- The Government-in-Exile of the Republic of East Turkistan (also known as East Turkistan Government in Exile) was established on September 14, 2004 in Washington, DC, the capital of the United States of America by the representatives of likeminded East Turkistani organizations around the world which promote independence for their homeland East Turkistan which is under the occupation of Communist China since 1949, under the leadership of Anwar Yusuf Turani, the President of East Turkistan National Freedom Center in Washington, DC. The Head Quarter of the Government-in-exile is Washington, D.C.
- Fully adhered to the rule and laws and the principles of democracy and free election set by the Unites Nations in terms of electing their government officials including president, prime minister, and the members of congress, the Government-in-Exile of the Republic of East Turkistan is the sole organ that has the legitimate authority over the people of East Turkistan who live under the occupation of China and those who live in exile as well, in terms of representing them in the international political arenas until East Turkistan regain its complete independence from Communist China.
- Strongly believing in the notion of “No Justice No Peace” and staunchly opposing all types of domestic and global terroristic acts at any time, the essential task of the Government-In-exile of East Turkistan is to fight the Chinese occupation of East Turkistan by any means according to the national aspiration of the oppressed people of East Turkistan who have been yearning for freedom by calling the international community and world leaders under the leadership of United Nations that adhere to the principles of freedom and democracy, law and order, peace and respect for human rights to support the cause of freedom and independence of occupied East Turkistan against Communist China.
