East Turkistan Government in Exile was established on September 14, 2004 in Washington, DC, the capital of the United States of America by the representatives of like-minded East Turkistani organizations around the world which promote independence for their homeland East Turkistan which is under the occupation of Communist China since 1949.  Located in Washington, DC, the Government-in-exile is fully adhered to the rule and laws and the principles of democracy and free election set by the Unites Nations in terms of electing their government officials including president, prime minister, and the members of congress, and it is the sole organ that has the legitimate authority over the people of East Turkistan who live under the occupation of China and those who live in exile as well, in terms of representing them in the international political arenas until East Turkistan regain its complete independence from Communist China.
