This is a response to a widespread misleading baseless lethal statement which is deliberately fabricated by some individuals supported by Communist China about East Turkistan Government in Exile and Anwar Yusuf Turani’s involvement in it.

Truth About East Turkistan Government in Exile and Anwar Yusuf Turani

 When, Where, and By Whom the East Turkistan Government in Exile was Established?

The Government in Exile of The Republic of East Turkistan, also known as East Turkistan Government in Exile (ETGIE) was established on September 14, 2004 in Washington, DC by a group of like-minded East Turkistani diasporas who promote nothing but independence for their homeland East Turkistan which is under the occupation of Communist China since 1949, under the leadership of Anwar Yusuf Turani, the President of East Turkistan National Freedom Center in Washington, DC. The Goal and The Political Status of East Turkistan Government in Exile

The goal of ETGIE is to insure the people of East Turkistan, and their children live in liberty and, to show the true path of what the people of East Turkistan must go through after they attain their independence. It is the Sole Lawful Representative of the People of East Turkistan Both Who Live Under the Occupation of Communist China and Abroad.  

The Parliamentary Election and Citizenship in East Turkistan Republic

The Parliament elects itself a Chairman, one or two Vice-Chairman, and a Secretary General and two Assistance General Secretary from among the democratically elected Members of the Parliament from various regions for a period of four years according to those who receive a two-thirds majority of the vote. The Parliament opens on the 10^th of November of the beginning of each term (four years) and closes on the 11^th of November of the ending of each term year. The Members of the Parliament are elected according to Article 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, and 19 of this Constitution, and thus the Parliament is formed. The newly elected Members of the Parliament start their duties with and oath on the 12^th of November. The formation of the Parliament, their legislation and the number of the Members are fulfilled in conformity with principles decided by the Founding Parliament.

The Obstacles in East Turkistan Government in Exile 

The ETGIE has been facing with unprecedented obstacles and destruction committed by some black hearted hypocrites in our own East Turkistani Uyghur diaspora supported by the Chinese authorities, since its establishment until today. Most of these hypocrites have been staunchly opposing of the formation and the development of the government in exile while some of them initially pretended to be supportive to hide their evil intent later revealed to be completely destructive. As a result, ETGIE has been constantly failing to fulfil both its short-term as well as long term goal over the past 17 years.

Coup and Division in East Turkistan Government in Exile   

There was a coup held by a group of corrupt ETGIE government officials on July 28, 2005 to overthrow Anwar Yusuf Turani, the founder and first Prime Minister of ETGIE. This coward act happened during Mr. Turani’s blockage to enter Turkey by the Turkish authorities due to the Chinese pressure on Ankara. Taking advantage of this political turmoil, a group of corrupt ETGIE officials who were supposed to take a part of in an annual meeting under the leadership of Anwar Yusuf Turani teamed up against him in an attempt to oust Mr. Turani from his own government by shamelessly making a false claim that Mr. Turani was associated with the Chinese government, based on the widespread baseless rumors fabricated by the overseas Chinese agents. In reality, after the attempted coup Mr. Turani expelled all of these government officials from his Government and continued to run his own government since then. However, to our disappointment until today, those same individuals who committed that attempted coup against Mr. Turani claiming that they are the rightful representatives of ETGIE elected by in their own cercle, and the so-called government in exile emerged recently under the leadership of Ghulam Osman and Salih Hudayar is the product of these black hearted hypocrites supported by China.

So Called Impeachment of Anwar Yusuf Turani

The so-called impeachment of Mr. Turani is the invention of Ghulam Osman and Salih Hudayar, the successor of 2005 attempted coup against Anwar Yusuf Turani, the founder and the democratically elected Prime Minister. They have been using the term of impeachment against him in order to justify their negation of Mr. Turani’s role and his leadership in the creation and the development of the real government in exile of East Turkistan. Furthermore, their claim of impeachment of Mr. Turani based on their own false statement published in their own website only supported by only one mispleaded western scholar who failed to understand the dirty politics played by the evil-minded Communist China. Also, there is no such thing in the constitution of ETGIE saying that government officials in the government in exile not allowed to return their homeland under the occupation of China. Any government official can return or visit their homeland East Turkistan at any time for a legitimate well-founded reason which includes attending the funeral of a family members under the condition of no compromising with the Chinese authorities.  Therefore, the so-called impeachment of Mr. Turani claimed by others nothing, but pure lie supported by Communist China.

Turani’s Association with East Turkistan Islamic Party (ETIP) and Other Terrorist Organizations 

As a freedom fighter from his birth Anwar Yusuf Turani has been a staunch supporter of all types of anti-China movements including East Turkistan Islamic Party which promote freedom and independence for his homeland East Turkistan while he vehemently opposes all types of terroristic acts and has no association with any terrorist organization in the world. Mr. Turani proudly kept supporting ETIP even after it was put in the terrorist lists of Unites Nations and the United States in 2001 under the pressure of Communist China, while many East Turkistanis including Ghulam Osman and Salih Hudayar were openly condemned ETIP as China and its allies did. Therefore, there is no doubt that no body, but it was Mr. Turani and other like-minded individuals who defended ETIP from all types of accusations and eventually convinced the US government to take ETIP out of its terrorist list in 2020.
